Frequently asked
Nearshore, AI and ERP — answered.
- What is nearshore software development?
- Nearshore software development means building software with senior engineers in a time zone close to yours — typically a 1–4 hour offset — so your team has 4–8 hours of daily overlap with the build team. Polaris runs nearshore squads for US, UK and EU clients.
- How is Polaris different from a traditional offshore vendor?
- Senior engineers only, US/EU overlap hours, AI built into delivery (codegen, agents, evals), monthly billing with 30-day notice, and a US/EU-resident solution lead on every engagement.
- What does 'AI-native delivery' mean in practice?
- Our engineers use AI tools daily inside their workflow: code generation, test generation, refactoring, documentation, and AI-assisted code review. We also build AI features into client products — retrieval, agents, structured generation, and evaluation harnesses.
- Which ERP platforms do you support?
- SAP (S/4HANA, ECC, BTP), Oracle (Fusion, NetSuite, JD Edwards), Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O, Business Central, CE), Power Platform, and ServiceNow.
- Can you provide L2/L3 managed ERP support?
- Yes. We run managed L2 and L3 support with clear SLAs, AI-augmented ticket triage, and runbook retrieval. L1 typically stays with the client's helpdesk.
- How fast can a squad start?
- Two weeks from signed agreement to first sprint is typical for a 3–4 person squad. Larger squads or specialist ERP profiles may take 3–4 weeks.
- What's the typical engagement size?
- Squads of 3–6 senior engineers are most common. Smaller advisory engagements and larger multi-squad delivery are both available.
- How does pricing work?
- Monthly fixed-fee per seat, by seniority and role. No long-term lock-in, 30-day notice, no setup fees.
- Is data GDPR-compliant?
- Yes. EU-based delivery, EU-resident data processing, and standard contractual clauses where data crosses borders. We sign DPAs as part of onboarding.
- Do you sign NDAs and IP-assignment agreements?
- Yes. All client IP is assigned to the client; mutual NDA is signed before any commercial conversation.
- Do you work with US clients in PST/MST?
- Yes. Our overlap window covers PT mornings through ET end-of-day, with on-call coverage for production support if needed.
- What's the difference between nearshore and offshore for an EU buyer?
- For an EU buyer, 'nearshore' usually means EU or near-EU geographies (full overlap with CET/CEST); 'offshore' means Asia, with a 4–8 hour offset that breaks same-day iteration.
- Can you help with ECC to S/4HANA migration?
- Yes — both greenfield and brownfield migrations, including data harmonization, custom-code analysis, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Do you provide just-developers (staff augmentation) or full delivery?
- Both. Embedded individuals into your team, or a full Polaris-managed squad with delivery accountability.
- Who is Polaris Digital led by?
- Polaris is founded and led by Marco Bombardi, with 25 years of experience across Brazil, the United States and Portugal. Prior client work includes Nestlé, Novartis, the Gates Foundation, Accenture and Ford.
